Latest Aston Martin Vulcan teaser proves exhausts can be interesting

An exhaust is boring, right? Not to a petrolhead and certainly not when it belongs to Aston Martin’s rumoured hypercar known only as the Vulcan.

The video teaser is the second from the British manufacturer and offers a few new clues on what to expect. For starters, we can see the rather tasty rear lights are reminiscient of those on the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo concept.

You are then treated to the beast awakening, as seconds later the side-exit exhaust pipes are seen firing away in the dark and the sound of the engine roars into life. Automotive bliss, if you ask us.

At least we can now say with certainty this will be a hypercar and not the DB11, confirming an earlier Autocar report. Top Gear sources say this will be the most extreme Aston and track-only, meaning a ferocious V12, oodles of carbon fibre, ridiculous spoiler and a kerb weight measured in grams.

If true, the Vulcan will be Aston Martin’s answer to the Ferrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR (seen here racing a Corvette Z06), which means the lucky owners will probably get some driving training and track practice thrown in for free.

“Prepare for take off… Geneva 2015,” the video description reads. Crank up the volume and submerge your ears in automotive bliss while you wait for the big unveiling on the 3rd of March, 2015.
