This is the new Infiniti Q70

The new Infiniti Q70 is now available in the UK, making it the perfect time for us to share prices, pictures and specs of the facelifted premium Japanese saloon.

Infiniti has introduced a four-cylinder 170PS 2.2-litre diesel, replacing the 3.0-litre V6 diesel. CO2 emissions and fuel economy are rated at 129g/km and 57.6mpg, respectively, while torque is 400Nm.

The overhauled hybrid comprised a 3.5-litre V6 and electric motor now develops a healthy 364PS and 546Nm, propelling the Q70 from 0 to 62mph in 5.3 seconds and up to 155mph. Fuel economy of 41.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 145g/km make it a frugal option.

Rounding off the range is a 3.7-litre petrol with 320PS, 360Nm of torque, 27.7mpg and a 0 to 62mph time of 6.2 seconds, making it the weakest link in the range. A seven-speed automatic is standard on all engines.

At the bottom of the trim list is Premium, which comes with LED headlights, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, Connectiviti+ navigation system, 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome accents on the front grille and leather seats with ventilation.

Sport bolsters the equipment list even further in the form of a revised front and rear bumper, 20-inch wheels and uprated brakes.

Premium Tech and Sport Tech feature a 16-speaker Bose surround sound system, intelligent cruise control, lane departure prevention, blind-spot intervention, Around-View monitor with moving object detection and Forest air-conditioning (simulates a natural breeze in the car).

Infiniti will be opening stores at White City and Stratford Westfield shopping centres in London, allowing customers to check out the range and go for a test drive. The former opens in April 2015 and will be a replacement for the current Piccadilly store.

Between 20 and 25 retail stores and up to 30 service centres have been planned for the UK as part of Infiniti’s bid to take on established rivals like Audi, BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes.

Prices start from £32,650 for the Q70 2.2d Premium rising to £46,600 for the Q70 Premium Tech Hybrid.

We were one of the first UK publications to take the new Infiniti Q70 2.2d and 3.5h out for a spin. Expect our first impressions of the Jaguar XF and Audi A6 competitor soon.
