Watch Land Rover’s test driver drift the new Range Rover Sport SVR

The Range Rover Sport SVR is almost here, and to celebrate that fact Land Rover has released a bum-clinchingly exciting teaser video showing off its capabilities.

The new 90-second clips shows the car being put through its paces at Rockingham Race circuit by Jaguar Land Rover’s chief wheelman Mike Cross, as the test driver gives his views on what makes a good performance car, and indeed the Range Rover Sport SVR, so damn good.

Of course, anyone familiar with Cross’s work will know he’s not shy when it comes to putting his right foot to the floor. He manages to get the big Range SVR pretty damn sideways, while explaining that it the vehicle’s lightness, the stiffness of its chassis and of course its bonkers torque and power that make such hoonery possible.

For those of you who don’t already know, the Range Rover Sport SVR features an enhanced version of the standard car’s 5-litre supercharged V8 engine, which produces 550 PS and 680Nm of torque, which is enough to allow 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds.

See what those numbers mean for yourself by watching the video.
