Vauxhall has again revealed a hint of its naughty side with a new limited run 'Black Edition' Corsa. The hotted-up compact car will feature a new performance-inspired engine that should make it more fun to drive than the standard Corsa.
Based on the Corsa Limited Edition, the Corsa Black Edition zips around with a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 120PS and 175Nm of torque, which kicks in at 1,750rpm. That'll bestow it with a 0-60mph time of 9.7 seconds and a top speed of 121mph. Sure, that sort of performance won't exactly set the tarmac quivering in fear, but it's positively rapid compared to most Corsas, which manage 0-60mph times in the region of 12 seconds and get all wheezy at around 112mph.
You'll be able to recognise the Corsa Black Edition thanks to numerous 'sporty' styling features such as 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, body-coloured front lower spoiler, side sills, rear lower skirt and rear spoiler. It'll also get a few boy racer-esque flourishes in the form of front fog lights, darkened head and tail lights and dark tinted rear and rear side windows.
The cabin gets the Halfords treatment, too, with 'sports' seats, a leather-covered steering wheel, 'sports' pedals, silver interior seat stitching and matt chrome air vent surrounds.
Because it's based on the Corsa Limited Edition, this Black Edition car will also feature Vauxhall's Touch and Connect infotainment system, climate control and adaptive forward lighting.
The Corsa Black Edition will enter a limited production run of just 500 units in both three and five-door body styles. The three door model is on sale now priced at £15,995 while the five-door model will set you back £16,425.
