Chromecast owners can now access Now TV, Sky’s on demand service for non-Sky TV customers.

With the Now TV mobile apps you’ll be able to use your phone or tablet to find the content you want and cast it to your TV screen without it looking like a horrible, pixelated mess

Football fans not wanting to be tied into a lengthy TV subscription should rejoice as this means you’ll now be able to get any and every Premier League game through Chromecast – BT Sport launched on Google’s TV streaming stick back in April

The cost of a Sky Sports pass on Now TV is currently priced at £6.99/day or £10.99/week, until November 27, when daily pass is expected to go back up to the old price of £9.99/day.

This will see you able to tune into specific matches or enjoy a week’s with of sport including Ryder Cup Golf and F1 racing. BT Sport subscribers get free access to the BT Sport iOS and Android apps, letting you watch up to 38 Premier League games a year.

For those who aren’t bothered about any televised sport, then you can get a Sky Movies pass for £8.99/month. This gives you access to all of the same movies currently showing on Sky’s 11 movie channels.

Now TV also gives you access to top content from Sky entertainment channels including Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Atlantic for £4.99/month.

You’ll also be able to get ITV Encore, the Sky-exclusive ITV channel with the Entertainment Pass. ITV Encore will feature series two of Mr. Selfridge, series four of Vera and the fourth and final series of Whitechapel later this month.

Gidon Katz, Director of Now TV, said: “We’re big fans of tiny media streaming devices so we’re really excited to add Google Chromecast to the family. It means customers have another great way to enjoy Now TV on their big screen.”

“We’re getting ready for the colder, darker nights and making sure there’s plenty of great TV to watch while snuggled down on the sofa.  Adding the very best of British drama from ITV Encore means TV addicts won’t be short of shows to enjoy this autumn.”

Now TV is available on over 50 devices including the £10 Now TV Box, arguably Chromecast’s biggest rival in the cheap TV streamer stakes, Roku boxes, YouView and Apple TV (Sky Sports day passes only).

You can also get Now TV online (PC and Mac), Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, LG smart TVs as well as iOS and Android phones and tablets.
