The ESPN sports channels are no longer available to buy from Sky TV.
As of this Monday, Sky stopped selling ESPN and ESPN HD prior to the launch of BT Sport in August.
Sky TV customers who’ve previously signed up to ESPN will continue to receive the channels until July 31. After then, Sky TV customers who want access to ESPN will need to sign up for BT Sport.
Read Recombu Digital’s guides on how to get Sky Sports and BT SportLetters have already been sent out to Sky subscribers informing them of the change. Customers who don’t want to have ESPN for the next month and want to cancel need to go to sky.com/ESPN/remove
The BT Sport package consists of BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN and costs £12/month. Those who want to get the channel line up in HD can pay £15/month. Alternatively, BT Sport is free to Sky TV customers who sign up for BT Broadband. Access to the HD channels normally costs £3/month extra but customers who order before August get the HD channels for a year.
ESPN will broadcast a range of live football from English FA Cup and Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League as well as UEFA Europa League, German Bundesliga and NCAA College Basketball, NCAA College Football and NASCAR motor racing from the US.
The lion’s share of English Premier League football however will be available on Sky Sports. Sky Sports costs £21/month in addition to the standard Sky TV Entertainment pack (£21.50/month) for a total of £42.50/month. As well as getting the majority of the Premier League games, Sky Sports will also show qualifying matches for Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018 exclusively and iPad owners will be able to replay goals from mutliple camera angles thanks to the updated Sky Sports iPad app.
