Best phones coming in 2015

As 2014 draws to a close, we’re already looking ahead and super-excited about some tantalising tech coming in early 2015. Here’s our round-up of the smartest and sexiest smartphones and mobile gadgets launching next year.

HTC One M9

This year’s 5-inch HTC One M8 was one of our favourite phones of 2014, boasting some premium components wrapped in a gorgeous all-metal frame. It probably didn’t sell enough to cover Robert Downey Jr’s ad bill, but it’s still a superb smartphone which gives us Everest-sized hopes for 2015’s One M9.

It looks like HTC will boost the screen to a 5.2-incher, more in line with the latest flagships, while last year’s ‘Ultrapixel’ camera has been ditched for a more powerful lens which can capture crisp and detailed shots.

Expect to see the One M9 hit the UK around March 2015. Here’s our full HTC One M9 preview.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Around the same time as the One M9, we should also see the latest Samsung flagship phone launch in style. This is a big one for Samsung, who suffered profits-wise in 2014 and needs a massive hit to help steady the ship. Great news then that we’ll be seeing less Galaxy handsets in 2015, with Samsung concentrating on quality rather than quantity.

We now know that Samsung can do great design, thanks to the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4, so we’ve got every body piece crossed that the Galaxy S6 is another gorgeous slab of metal. If we find ourselves clutching another chunk of plastic come March, we might have to go into the corner for a little cry.

As well as a super-crisp Quad HD screen, the Galaxy S6 should pack a 64-bit processor and a truly impressive camera; the Note 4’s snapper was one of the best we used in 2014, so it’s solid groundwork for the next flagship shooter.

And we’d be shocked if Samsung didn’t add some of its trademark innovation, with early reports of super-fast storage and all-in-one chips suggesting that efficiency will be a major focus. Here’s hoping for impressive battery life as well as slick performance.

Sony Xperia Z4

Sony has gotten a little carried away with its flagship phones lately, releasing them every six months rather than the traditional once a year, but to its credit, the Xperia Z phones have so far been bloody great. The most recent Xperia Z3 was one of the most desirable and feature-packed phones of 2014, outshone only by its compact cousin, the Xperia Z3 Compact.

So, we’re naturally already expecting the Xperia Z4 to be one of the sexiest smartphones of 2015. Early reports suggest a 5.5-inch giant, similar to the LG G3, sporting a gorgeous Quad HD display that’ll give LG’s phone-of-the-year award-winner some serious competition. Sony should also be pumping some fresh new camera tech into the Z4, to stay ahead of the game when it comes to smartphone photography.

LG G4

LG is one of the most exciting phone manufacturers right now, with the G3 winning our Best Phone of 2014 award thanks to its smart design, incredible Quad HD screen and bevy of nifty features. It looks like LG isn’t content to sit back and churn out straight sequels, however, with a game plan that involves innovative bendy and foldable screens.

In fact, we should see the first bendy LG mobile in 2015, according to the company’s plans, so will the G4 be a fully flexible phone, the way we hoped the LG G Flex would be? One thing’s for sure; the G4 will pack the very best specs and take the fight to the likes of Samsung and Apple. If we had one wish, we’d ask for a metallic frame rather than a plastic body with a metallic finish. However, considering we’ve dropped the G3 face-down on concrete three times now and it’s still going strong, we can’t really complain about the design.

Bondara SexFit

Well, one of the most popular mobile accessories we reported on in 2014 was the Bondara SexFit, a smart sex aid that straps to a gentleman’s member and then relays information about his performance via Bluetooth to his mobile phone.

Bondara is already seeking a test subject and we should see this truly unique gadget hitting stores in early 2015…
