Looking to pick up a phone for yourself or a friend/relative for Christmas 2015? Here’s some ideas of the best value mobile phones based on different budgets.

We’ve seen better value than ever from 2015’s smartphone line-up, with incredible features such as HD visuals and dependable cameras packed into even cheapy handsets. If you’re looking to buy a new phone as a present for a loved one for Christmas 2015, here’s a selection of the best around.

Best phone for a present budget of £50: Microsoft Lumia 435

If your Christmas budget is a bit tight, we’d recommend splashing out on the Microsoft Lumia 435. This cheery little Windows smartphone is comapct and lightweight, making it perfect for anyone with small hands or handbags. You get the full range of Windows features, including the easy-to-use Live Tiles interface which makes this a perfect present even for smartphone noobs.

Of course, if you’re reading this on Friday December 11, then good news – you have the chance to win a Lumia 435 in our 12 Days of Christmas giveaway! Don’t forget to check Recombu every day for a fresh new techy prize, we’ve got some great stuff lined up.

Best phone for a present budget of £100: Vodafone Smart Prime 6 or Motorola Moto E

At £100 you have plenty of choice these days, with some seriously good smartphone tech on offer. Our personal preference is Vodafone’s Smart Prime 6, which offers a 720p HD screen, impressive battery life and a solid 8-megapixel camera, all on Android OS. It’ll satisfy any deserving loved one who wants to stream video or snap their surroundings non-stop.

However, we’re also big fans of Motorola’s Moto E, which can’t match the Smart Prime 6 for photography chops but impresses with all-day battery life, a colourful screen and a funky customisable design that younger users will get a kick out of.

Best phone for a present budget of £150: Motorola Moto G (2015, 3rd edition)

The third Moto G is just as brilliant as the previous two, serving up the best camera yet (a stunning 13-megapixel snapper that can handle almost any conditions on auto mode) and full water resistance.

Of course, at this price point it has some strong competition from the likes of Vodafone’s Smart Ultra 6, which also packs a very capable camera as well as a 1080p Full HD screen. Either way, any tech-loving family members should be more than happy to yank these smartphones out of their stocking on Christmas day.

Best phone for an unlimited present budget: Samsung Galaxy S6

Sammy’s Galaxy S6 won our Best Phone of 2015 award, which makes it the obvious choice for anyone with a limitless budget for Christmas tech. It’s an all-round masterpiece, perfect for media lovers, amateur photographers, web lovers and anyone who simply appreciates some sexy tech.

Unfortunately there’s no expandable storage, so if your loved one is an app addict or wants to carry around loads of music and movies to enjoy offline, we recommend stumping up for the 64GB model.
