Nexus 9 available from O2 from Monday

If you’re in the market for a new tablet and need something with LTE support, you’ll be pleased to know that, as from Monday, the new Nexus 9 will be available through O2.

The 8.9-inch tablet, which runs on the latest iteration of Android, Lollipop, is being offered on a number of tariffs, so you should find a package to suit your needs.

If you want to keep upfront costs low you can get your hands on the Nexus 9 for as little as £29.99, although this will set you back £32 per month for 3GB data – which you’re likely to chew through in no time at all. Those of you needing more can opt for any number of contracts offering right up to 8GB of data, though even that might prove to be a little light if you routinely stream a lot of HD content.

O2 is offering the Nexus 9 on its ‘Refresh’ tariff, which means that once you tire of your current device, you can upgrade before the end of your contract by paying off its remaining value. This means that you don’t have to worry about being tied to the device when its successor drops in a year’s time, or if you’re prone to getting bored easily.

The Nexus 9 is a solid device, it runs on NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 chipset and offers up a dual-core 2.3GHz ‘Denver’ CPU alongside the impressive Kepler DX1 GPU. The tablet also sports 2GB RAM as well as an 8-megapixel primary camera and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, which should prevent all but the most unpleasant knocks and scratches.

You’ll also find a 6,700mAh battery in the HTC-designed device, which allows for up to nine and a half hours of multimedia use and 720 hours of standby time, making it a great option for commuters and business users.

There’s no word yet on whether O2 will have the full selection of colours available (Indigo Black, Lunar White and Sand) or whether they’ll be selling the WiFi only versions off-plan, but with Monday only a weekend away, we don’t have too long to wait in order to find out.

If you’ve got an older device knocking around that you no longer need, O2 also offers a recycling service, which could give you a bit of extra cash towards your Nexus 9 too!
