Google debuts teaser ads before tomorrow’s Android event

With less than a day until Google’s huge launch event, where we’re hoping to see the new Android L operating system and possibly its next Nexus 6 smartphone, the company has released three new teaser ads online.

All of the new ads appear to hint at something specific and come emblazoned with the slogan “Be together. Not the same”, highlighting the fact that Android devices come in all shapes and sizes and from several different manufacturers, including LG, HTC, Motorola and Samsung.

One particular clue that’s been getting a few Nexus-loving tongues wagging is within the bus stop ad, which features a ridiculously huge device running Android L. Could Google be hinting that the heavily-rumoured Nexus 6, which is expected to have a 5.92-inch screen, be the device used to launch the latest Android build?

Another device which could see its debut tomorrow is the Nexus 9, Google’s latest tablet, which is reportedly being manufactured in collaboration with HTC. The Nexus 9 is expected to rock a 9” screen (obviously) and if it does get launched tomorrow, it’ll be just ahead of Apple’s iPad Air 2 reveal. That might just give Google the jump on tablet sales, especially with its predicted sub-$400 price point (and lack of the divisive iOS 8).

These stylised animations, in which everyone is Android-shaped, not to mention the use of iconic mid-Nineties music certainly pack a punch and lend an element of fun to proceedings, which is a stark contrast to the ‘sometimes takes itself a bit too seriously’ tone of Apple’s recent launches. These three ads have got us really keen to see whether Google will push the boat out at tomorrow’s event, or keep it eye-lid droppingly low-key, as they have done in the past.

Here are all three ads for your viewing enjoyment.
