Huawei Honor: Android phone with three-day battery

Huawei has announced a new Android smartphone with a 4-inch screen and three-day battery life

At just 10.9mm deep and weighing 130g it’s powered by a 1.4Ghz processor, the Huawei Honor includes a 4-inch 854×480 pixel screen with 16 million colours.

But the highlight is the battery. Huawei claims it has enough power to last three days, making it the longest in the smartphone with a 4-inch screen category.

Victor Xu from Huawei comments: “Huawei Honor encapsulates the Huawei brand – it features simple-to-use, advanced technology that allows people to share and connect easily. Honor provides a package of features that elevates the smartphone user experience, including an ultra-long battery life, so critical to the performance of smartphones but yet is often downplayed.”


Running Android 2.3.5 the interface also include Huawei’s customised skin, which can be customised and includes a weather widget.

Other features include a 5-megapixel primary camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera, DLNA compatibility data can be for transferred wirelessley between devices, such as a HD TV. There’s also a Gyroscope for gaming.

Last week Huawei introduced the entry-level Blaze, the Honor seems to be aimed more at the mid-top end section of the market.


The Huawei Honor will be available in the UK in 2012, although there’s no news of the exact date or pricing yet.
