Motorola launches three sexy new metal bands for the Moto 360

The Moto 360 is one of the most stylish smartwatches on the market and it’s about to get a whole lot more beautiful, after Motorola launched three new metallic bands to sex it up.

Previously, folk could buy the watch with three choices of band: Slim Metal, Leather and Metal, which pretty much covered the common or garden style choices. But now the company has added Light Gold, Dark Metal and Light Metal to its roster, giving potential buyers and lovers of the device some slick new options to rock on their wrists.

The Dark Metal option adds an air of industrial cool to the smartwatch with its matte-look 23mm band, while the Light Metal option will likely appeal to purists who want a smart, unfussy watch which can go with a work suit as well as some casual clothes. And if you’re after something a little bit dressier, the Light Gold option, with its subtle 18mm gilded band, should get some heads turning.

The second Moto 360 smartwatch from Motorola is expected to drop in the coming months, hopefully slimming down the original watch face and giving it a more solid, metallic finish. The new Moto 360 is also touted to feature a bunch of notable feature upgrades, to help it take on the Apple Watch (now going on sale in April).

If you’re interested in a Moto 360 with a Dark Metal or Light Gold strap, you’ll be able to snap one up for the princely sum of £229 from the end of February, from several UK retailers. However, the Light Metal option will be available exclusively through John Lewis until the end of June.

We presume you’ll be able to buy the bands individually too, just as you could with the Leather and Metal options when they were released. So far, there’s no word yet on pricing and availability for just the bands.
