We’ve seen and heard about the numerous biographies, biopics and even an action figure depicting Apple’s former CEO and luminary - Steve Jobs, but now the likeness of this influential pillar of the tech industry is set to star in his own Manga comic book.
According to Pocket-Lint, Japanese illustrator Mari Yamazaki will be the one to put pen and pencil to paper in an episodic series, following the life and times of the late Jobs based on the biography written by Walter Isaacson. The source material in question went on to be a bestseller and is also the base material for the forthcoming big screen adaptation starring Ashton Kutcher.
The officially licensed series itself will feature in Kondasha’s Kiss magazine, the same publisher apparently responsible for the Japanese version of Isaacson’s biography and as you can see here, the main character has already been realised in Yamazaki’s own style, a look which we think suits the great man. As an illustrator she explained that she feels "sympathy for Jobs" and that he has a realistic and charming painting style.
This isn’t the first time Jobs has been transformed into a comic book-style iteration of himself but we’re looking forward to seeing how this newest revision of his illustrated likeness is received. What do you think of it?
