Vodafone brings more power to budget 4G plans

Vodafone has introduced its Smart 4 Turbo and Smart 4 Power smartphones on its budget pay monthly 4G plans, so you can grab these LTE-ready devices from just £14/month.

The Smart 4 Turbo features a 4.5-inch FWVGA touch screen with a 5-megapixel camera. It runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, features a microSD slot supporting memory cards up to 32GB and is available for £14/month (previously £18/month) including 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB of data.

The Smart 4 Power is the larger of the devices with a 5-inch qHD display. It features the same 5-megapixel camera as the Turbo, but its processor is boosted to a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core chip and it’s available for £18/month (previously £22.50/month), including 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data.

Both the Turbo and the Power run on Android 4.4 KitKat and the plans come with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 4GB of data. You’ll also get a choice of Netflix, Sky Sports Mobile TV or Spotify Premium for six months if you upgrade to Vodafone’s Big Red tariff.

Both the Smart 4 Turbo and Smart 4 Power are also available on Vodafone’s new 4G Pay As You Go plans too, which launched in early September. Anyone who wants to add 4G to their tariff can sign up to the ‘Freedom Freebee’ bundle that gives 2GB of data, plus 500 minutes and unlimited texts for £20/month, or 4GB of data and unlimited minutes, plus a choice between Sky Sports Mobile TV and Spotify for £30/month.

The Smart 4 Turbo and Smart 4 Power are available for £79 and £120 upfront respectively on the company’s PAYG 4G tariffs, respectable prices considering the LTE support.
