SIM only
If you’ve got a phone you are happy with, perhaps you’ve just come out of a Pay Monthly contract, then a SIM only deal is what you need. Since you’re not looking for a new phone, the monthly cost works out much cheaper - even though you are still getting the generous allowances you would expect from a long-term agreement. In fact many people find that opting for an unlocked phone and paying for it in full, then pairing it with a SIM-only plan can save hundreds of pounds over the term of a 24-month contract.
All the major network operators offer SIM only deals, with varying allowances for calls, texts and data, to suit whatever you need. The length of contract is flexible; you could choose a tariff which has a minimum term of just one month and renews automatically, but means you aren't tied into a long-term contract, so can cancel at any point. Alternatively selecting a SIM only plan over a longer period, such as 12 months, is usually cheaper or gives you improved monthly allowances.
