Apple iOS 5.1 beta 2 brings Photo Stream fixes

Apple has made available a new beta version of iOS 5.1 beta 2 to developers, which brings some welcome improvements to iCloud Photo Stream

Currently in pre-release via Developer Center the update will be available for iPad, iPhone and the iPod Touch. It’s 801Mb, and as well as minor bug fixes, now individual images can be deleted from Photo Stream:

Photos taken using iOS 5.1 can be deleted from Photo Stream on your device and will be removed automatically from Photo Stream on your other iOS 5.1 devices. Older photos can be manually deleted from your iOS 5.1 devices.

Photo Stream is Apple’s cloud based photo storage portal, which stores up to 1000 of your latest picture in the cloud. At the moment there’s no way of removing any of the photos – which means you are stuck with screenshots and wall papers – pictures you might not want to keep.

This update means you’ll at least be able to control what pictures you store in your own stream. At the moment we don’t know when the update will be rolled out, but we’ll bring you more news as soon as we get it.
