HTC Endeavor (Edge) specs firming up: Quad-core 1.5GHz Tegra 3, 720p display, 1GB RAM

The HTC Endeavor, aka the HTC Edge was leaked in renders on PocketNow some time ago, but as of late it’s had a lot more revealed with a potential name-change on the cards, UI leaks showcasing HTC Sense 4.0 and some hardware specifics outlined.

We can now pretty firmly say that the new powerhouse from HTC will sport an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 1GB or RAM after the brains at XDA developers lent their efforts to reverse engineering the RUU leaked earlier. While the HTC Ville will still sport a Qualcomm processor, it’s a pretty big deal that HTC have chosen to go with Nvidia for their flagship for 2012.

What a Tegra 3 processor can secure however is unrivalled gaming performance on the Endeavour to perfectly complement the handset’s 4.7″ 720p display, a resolution that matches the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This standardised screen resolution should make porting to the HTC Endeavor a much smoother process than when qHD first landed on the scene. We’ve already seen how incredible performance on a Tegra 3 processor is with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime and its 1.3GHz quad-core engine, so we can only image how a 1.5GHz processor will power a lower resolution screen and smaller form factor.

Amisdst all our excitement however, we are slightly concerned: If the name change makes it to the UK, does that mean we have to spell Endeavor minus the ‘u’ for the next year?
