HTC One X: Hands-on pictures and first impressions
The HTC One X. This. Is. It. It's an absolute beast, coming with a 4.7-inch, 1280x720 (720p) resolution screen, Nvidia's Tegra 3
quad core 4-PLUS-1 core processor (1.5GHz) and an 8-megapixel camera. The camera, as you've probably heard by now, boasts a f/2.0 lens, focuses in 0.2 seconds and features HTC's Image Chip, the finer of points of which we wax lyrical about here.
Did we mention the 32GB of memory (in an HTC phone!) already? And the optical lamination process that means there's virtually no air gap? And the HTC Sense 4 on top of Ice Cream Sandwich?
Yes. It's safe to say that we're very excited about this phone. But how does it actually feel in the hand?
Very light, lighter than you'd perhaps first think. It's amazing to learn that it supposedly weighs 130g. The texture of the grey version we got to play with has a smooth feel with a bit of resistance. We were immediately put in mind of the HTC Rhyme, fitting perhaps, as there's five 'pogo pin' connections over on the back, for use with various docks. We understand that there's a little more than just the HTC Media Link on the cards, but the spokesperson we chatted to declined to comment.
The HTC One X is very snug fit in the palm. At 134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm, it's literally less of a handful than the HTC Titan or the HTC Sensation XL, both of which had 4.7-inch screens. Speaking of the screen, the display of the HTC One X is just mind blowing. The viewing angles on it are superb, colours are vibrant and it's very bright - we actually had to turn the brightness all the way down in the settings in order to get some decent shots.
The HTC One X is coming to the UK sometime in April, with O2, Orange, Three, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile all selling it. When we get price information from all the networks we'll let you know but for now feast your eyes on our hands-on shots.
