iPhone 5 rumour points again to September 2011 release date

After a brief dry spell, we’re back into iPhone rumour rain, this time the awesomely named Pegatron, a Taiwanese notebook manufacturer, is alleged to have bagged the manufacturing order for 15 million next-generation of iPhones.

According to DigiTimes’ “upstream component maker” sources, the iPhone 5, or whatever Apple choose to name it, will begin shipping in September 2011.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Pegatron declined to comment on the rumours, but they were previously responsible for making US network Verizon’s version of the iPhone 4.

DigiTimes has previously reported that the iPhone 5 screen would measure 4 inches, and increase on the 3.5-inch retina display found on the iPhone 4, bringing it in-line with recent high-end Android offerings like the LG Optimus 3D and Samsung’s Galaxy S2.

DigiTimes has added in this recent report that the new iPhone may not include any major hardware changes. (What, no built-in projector?)
