The Nokia Camera app is now available to download on all Windows Phone 8 Lumia phones, bringing more photography firepower to the masses.
A standard feature of PureView-branded phones like the Lumia 1020, Nokia Camera lets you easily fine tune things like white balance, ISO and exposure from the main screen without getting bogged down in labyrinthine menus.
Now the likes of the Lumia 520 and the Lumia 720 can get in on the action too, by installing an early trial version of the app from Nokia Beta Labs.
Nokia isn’t elaborating about what these new features might be, but it says that once the Lumia Black update arrives, you’ll be able to take pictures from the lock screen.
Something you’ve been able to do for ages on most Android phones and on iOS since 5.1 but we digress…
Nokia Camera beta won’t replace your current Nokia Camera app, so it’ll sit alongside it on your homescreen. You can set it as your default camera, so you’ll be able to launch it from the hardware key on your phone.

- Lumia 620
- Lumia 625
- Lumia 720
- Lumia 810
- Lumia 820
- Lumia 822
