Samsung Galaxy R demo video released

The Samsung Galaxy R has made an appearance in a video posted You Tube, giving us a bit more information about the cheap Samsung Galaxy S2.

Although it’s not quite as slim as the Galaxy S2, it’s still a slender 9.5mm deep, with identical button placement. It also shares the same TouchWiz interface as it’s bigger brother, with features like Social Hub for pulling in your Facebook and Twitter feeds, Game Hub and Book Hub.

We first heard about the Samsung Galaxy R last week and this video confirms it’s status as a slightly stripped down version of the Galaxy S2, with some compromises. The 4.2-inch screen is LCD instead of Super Amoled 4.2-inch screen and the camera is 5-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera, although it’s also powered by a dual-core  processor, although rumours suggest this may be a Tegra rather than Samsung chip,

Unfortunately as we discovered earlier, the Galaxy R might not even make it to the UK, with Samsung UK stating: “The Samsung Galaxy R has not been confirmed for the UK Market. However Samsung currently has a range of Galaxy handsets available in the UK, including the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Ace, and is committed to providing a range of smartphones at varied price options to suit different consumer needs.”

Hopefully this will change, because first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy R are really impressive. Would you like to see the Samsung Galaxy R? Let us know below, or via Facebook and @recombu on Twitter.
