We're huge fans of mobile Wi-Fi so the SIMFi card, developed by Sagem Orga and O2 owners Telefonica, has us seriously excited. The SIMFi card is a SIM card that boasts an embedded Wi-Fi radio and works with any 3G handset.

Similar to the Novatel Wireless 2352, the SIMFi turns 3G into Wi-Fi. If you were on a train, for example, you could use a SIMFi-packing phone to surf the Web on your laptop and potentially share the connection with friends.

This is a significant development because it simplifies the tethering process and allows you to turn any 3G phone into a hotspot. It also means that you don't need to carry around a separate device, such as the Novatel Wireless 2352.

We'll hopefully have more information for you next week when we go the mobile World Congress, where Sagem Orga and Telefonica will hopefully be showing the technology off. We can't wait to play with it and hope it doesn't take too long before we see the SIMFi in shops.
