Siri port working on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch

Green with envy over iPhone 4S users having all the fun with Siri? Disappointed your current iDevice won’t talk back to you in a sassy monotone? Rest assured that developers are hard at work porting Siri to the iPhone 4 and the iPod Touch.

Siri landed on the iPhone 4 and iPad last week, but the port was denied an audience with Apple’s servers. A jailbroken iPhone 4S and a little bit of time was all it took for developer Steven Troughton-Smith to make it a two-way conversation.

Just two small things: it’s a complicated process to get Siri working on other iOS devices, and the developer doesn’t want to publicly release the workaround for fear of legal repercussions. Those of you hoping to fire up Cydia to get your Siri on in the near future will be disappointed then, but the dev did say he was willing to post detailed notes on the process when there’s a jailbreak available for iOS 5.

Ultimately Siri will end up on other iOS devices, but would you download and use it if it was available? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
