How to contact your network operator: Useful numbers

Moving to a new network, switching from PAYG to Pay Monthly, or just checking your voicemail may prove trickier than you initially anticipated. We’ve sifted through each of the leading UK networks directories to bring you all the useful numbers they offer, including ones for traffic information, sorting international services and more.

O2

O2 Numbers – O2 have a limited set of easy access numbers, pushing the focus to their online services. O2 Numbers offers users 1000 minutes or texts to ten favourite numbers which can be set up by texting ‘TEN’ to 21300 or calling 2425 from the phone with your O2 SIM in. (More information)

O2 Friends – The same offer can be applied to three friends for PAYG customers by contacting 2425 from the phone with your O2 SIM in. (More information)

Voicemail on – To switch voicemail services on initially, dial 1750 from the phone with your O2 SIM in.

Voicemail off – To switch voicemail services on initially, dial 1760 from the phone with your O2 SIM in.

Voicemail – Once voicemail is active, dialing 901 from the phone with your O2 SIM in will access O2 voicemail. (More information)

PAYG Top-up – Whether topping on your phone, whilst abroad or at home, dialling 4444 allows access to the top-up service. (More information)

Pay Monthly Services – Dial 202 from your O2 mobile, or 0844 809 0202 from a landline

Pay & Go Customer Service – Dial 4445 from your O2 mobile, or 0844 809 0222

Orange

Orange Directory Enquiries – Dialling 118000 will give you access to numbers in the UK and Ireland.

Answer Phone – Simply dial 123 from the phone with your Orange SIM in to contact your voicemail. Alternatively many phones allow access to voicemail simply by holding ‘1’ on your keypad.

Text Message Alerts – If you’d like to start or stop receiving Orange text message alerts, dial 277 from the phone with your Orange SIM in.

Traffic Information – Dialing 177 provides Orange customers with access to current traffic related news, delays and even links to traffic cameras, provided you dial from the phone with your Orange SIM in.

Home Phone Voicemail – Once you’ve set it up, dialling 1571 will grant you access to Orange Home Phone, your landline’s voicemail, accessible from your mobile.

Second Line Voicemail – Dialling 120 will grant you access to a secondary voicemail on a different phone, provided you’ve set the service up already.

Pay Monthly Services – Dial 150 from the phone with your Orange SIM in, 07973 100 150 from another phone or +44 7973 100 150 if you’re abroad.

Orange World – If you don’t have access to Orange World from your device by default, text ‘OW’ to 247, this will allow you to access the Orange World mobile site and check your usage.

PAYG Services – Dial 450 (will cost 25p from the phone with your Orange PAYG SIM, costs will vary on other lines) from the phone with your Orange SIM in, 07973 100 450 from another phone or +44 7973 100 450 if you’re abroad.

PAYG credit check – Dial 453 from the phone with your Orange SIM to find out how much remaining credit and allowances you have.

Account Team Assistance – Dial 439 (will cost 25p from Orange PAYG SIM, costs will vary on other lines) from the phone with your Orange SIM in, 07973 100 439 from another phone or +44 7973 100 439 if you’re abroad.

Three

My3 app – Three have produced an app for iOS and Android devices to better manage their primary services in place of contact numbers, however there are still a few useful numbers on offer.

Customer Service – Three’s primary number is pretty self explanatory. Dialling 333 will let customers upgrade or cancel their contract. Conversely, this is the number to call if your phone is lost or stolen. (More information)

Bill payment – If customers want to pay their bill from their Three phone, all they need do is dial 400. Alternatively they can call 0844 338 0317 from any other phone (charged at 5p per minute from a BT landline, other networks may vary). (More information)

T-Mobile

Check your allowance – Texting ‘AL’ to 150 from the phone with your T-Mobile SIM in will issue your allowance.

Check your balance – Texting ‘BA’ to 150 from the phone with your T-Mobile SIM in will issue your balance. (More information)

Top-up – Texting ‘CR’ to 150 from the phone with your T-Mobile SIM in once your card is set up followed by the necessary card numbers to make a payment. (More information)

Vodafone

Customer Service – Pay Monthly customers dial 191 from their Vodafone SIM-laden phones and PAYG customers dial 191*. For Pay Monthly customers calling from another phone, dial 08700 700191 or +447836 191191 when abroad. For PAYG customers calling from another phone, dial 08700 776655 or +44 7836 191919 when abroad.
