iWatch2 concept: The Apple iPhone wristwatch

last week | POSTED IN News

After seeing the very real Motorola MOTOACTV and the I’m Watch around and at CES, it was only a matter of time before we clapped eyes on an iConcept equivalent. The work of Antonio De Rosa, the same chap who gave us the iPhone SJ concept, the iWatch2 concept is conceived as a kind of “personal companion for your iPhone or iPad, on your wrist.” So this would act as a second screen, pinging you notifications of Facebook updates, texts and the like and allowing you to control...

Samsung Galaxy S Advance: Curvaceous new body meets dual-core power

last week | POSTED IN News

What have we got here - the latest addition to the Samsung Galaxy S family? It certainly looks that way with the Samsung Galaxy S Advance being a specced up Samsung Galaxy S expected to be announced at MWC this coming February. Featuring a bumped up 1GHz dual-core processor inside, perhaps more exciting than the innards is the overall design, with much of the styling borrowing heavily from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it appears to have a curved glass fascia and a minimalistic physical button set....

Nokia Lumia 910: 12-megapixel version of the Lumia 900 mooted

last week | POSTED IN News

We practically slavered over the Nokia Lumia 900 when saw it at CES this year. So we were pretty chuffed to learn that it would be coming to Carphone Warehouse, after some speculation whether the UK would get it or not. But now we’re hearing that there might be an even more powerful Lumia in the works. The Nokia Lumia 910 hasn’t been officially confirmed by Espoo, but Dutch retailer Typhone.NL has a landing page for one all the same. Specs for this are virtually the same as the...

Sony Xperia S 12MP camera is one fast shooter

last week | POSTED IN News

The 12-megapixel Camera on the upcoming Sony Xperia S is to be one of its key features. Being released with some impressive multimedia specs such as a 4.3-inch 720x1280 screen, the handset will offer pixel-density to better that of the iPhone 4 and display the high resolution photos taken on it incredibly. That said, one of our worries was how the 12-megapixel photos would be handled on the phone's dual-core processor. Given that the highest end handsets expected for MWC will be rocking...

A NenaMark2 benchmark has emerged which shows the performance of the MSM8960 chipset, apparently clocked at 1.5Ghz (most likely dual-core) with an Adreno 225 GPU. Although this is probably a development device, it also runs on Android 4.0.3 and sports a resolution of 1024x600. The score? 54.90...

Motorola posts $80m losses for Q4, $249m for 2011

last week | POSTED IN News

Despite having been acquired by Google last year, there’s still unquestionable pressure on Motorola Mobility to be profitable and prove itself after a rocky track record over the past decade. Unfortunately, if Q4 2011 sales figures are anything to go by, with $80 million losses posted thanks to low sales figures, as a business, the road’s still rocky for this Moto. With just 200,000 XOOM tables shifted in the period and 5.3 million smartphones, Motorola’s 2011 total sales adds up to 42.4...
