Pink Phones: Pretty in pink

Pink phones are everywhere whether you like it or not. We’d like to be able to ignore them but it seems like some of you can’t get enough of them, so we've come up with a list of the best pink handsets so we can put this matter to rest.
1. LG Cookie Pink
The LG Cookie pink is a fantastic little touchscreen mobile that was launched to bring touchscreen technology to the masses at a very reasonable price. Its fashionable slim line frame is packed with features that would normally be found on high-end handsets. The Cookie has an MP3 player, FM radio, web browser and video player as well as a creditable 3-megapixel camera. The only major downside is that the LG Cookie is not 3G compatible, so browsing the internet can prove to be a bit slow -- but other than that the Cookie is a great handset.
Available on contract from Orange and from Virgin Mobile on pay as you go for £99.99.
2. Sony Ericsson K770i Pink
It may not look like the least graceful handset of our pink phone selection, but the Sony Ericsson K770i has a great deal of features to make up for its utilitarian looks. The K770i is 3G compatible and has all the media functionality that you would see in more expensive handsets. For instance there is an MP3 player, an FM radio and a 3.2-megapixel camera. Although it only has 16MB of internal memory, this can be expanded by using the handy M2 memory card slot. We think that for £65 it’s a bargain.
Available from Vodafone on pay as you go for £65.00.
3. Samsung J700i Pink
Compared to the touchscreen styling of the LG cookie and the feature packed K770i you could be forgiven for thinking that the J700i is somewhat lacking. Similar to the Cookie the J700 does not have 3G compatibility but it does make up for this omission in other areas. One area in particular stands out and that is price. You can get the J700i for under £40. In these cash conscious times you can't argue with that.
Available from T-Mobile on pay as you go for £35.22 and on Vodafone pay as you go for £45.00.
4. Samsung G600 Pink
The Samsung G600 is a slider phone without the benefits of 3G compatibility. It does manage to bring some considerable camera power to the table though. This is one of the few pink phones that will give you a 5-megapixel snapper at a decent price. Couple that with a decent MP3 player and FM radio, and you have quite an attractive package.
Available from Virgin Mobile on contract and pay as you go. Pay as you go costs £89.99.
5. Sony Ericsson W595 Pink
This stylish Walkman slide phone comes packed with some pretty high end features. The W595 is HSDPA compatible and its memory that can be expanded up to 8GB as well as 40MB of internal memory. Obviously music is the main attraction of the W595 and the MP3 player is superb. You can either get the W595 on a very reasonable contract or get it on pay as you go.
Available from T-Mobile on contract or on pay as you go for £88.08.
6. LG KS360 Pink
The LG KS360 has some novel features that really elevate it above the crowd. The standout feature that will immediately hit you when you first handle the phone is the slide out QWERTY keyboard. It works brilliantly, making texting on the move a pleasure. Social networking is at the heart of the KS360, so if you tweet or use Facebook then the KS360 could be the perfect phone for you.
Available from Orange on pay as you go for £68.00
7. Sony Ericsson W910i Pink
Similar to the W595 that we discussed earlier, the W910i is a stylish and capable slide phone. In fact it almost has exactly the same specifications as the W595. The W910i is HSDPA compatible which makes for easy web browsing and it has all the media functionality that you would expect from a Walkman handset. It's slightly more expensive than the W595 but then it does have a slightly glossier look and feel. Whether that is worth the extra money or not is debatable.
Available from Orange on pay as you go for £97.50
8. Samsung M8800 Pixon pink
The Samsung M8800 Pixon is a high-end handset designed for those of us who want to take high-quality photos on the move. It has an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash. The camera has an almost dazzling array of features to boast about. Face detection, image stabilization and geo tagging all make an appearance. So uploading those shocking pictures of your friends to Facebook is nice and easy. Internal memory comes in at a generous 200 MB and it is expandable up to 16GB via the microSD card slot. This comes in handy as the M8800 is DivX compatible, so you can even watch movies about it. Our only issue with the M8800 (pink) is that you can’t get it on pay as you go.
Available from Orange on contract from £29.36 per month.
9. Samsung Soul Pink
The Samsung soul pink may very well be the most attractive phone on our list. It has a real fashionable, high-end look and feel. Thankfully it has some tech to actually back this up. Although the Soul cannot really be compared to the M8800 it manages to hold its own against the other phones in the list. The Soul is HSDPA compatible and comes with an MP3 player. But the feature that really stands out is the excellent 5-megapixel camera that comes with a long list of features that are similar to the M8800. It's also cheaper than the M8800 so the Soul might not have the raw megapixel power of the M8800 but it is definitely more cash conscious.
Available from Mobiles.co.uk on contract from £15.00
10. Nokia 3600 slide pink
The Nokia 3600 slide is an elegant looking slide phone that does the basics. It may not have fancy HSDPA compatibility or all the megapixels that phone engineers can muster but it does have its own charms. The 3600 slide has a 3-megapixel camera as well as an MP3 player, but it does not have the media functionality of certain high-end phones on this list, such as the M8800. If you want a nice looking phone that does the basics very well though, the 3600 slide could be for you.
Available from Orange on pay as you go from £159.50
