So long, iTunes: Preview iPhone apps in browser

By Kate Solomon on Thursday, 4th February 2010

Apple has snuck out a nice new feature for perusers of the app store; clicking a direct link to an app will now open the app preview page in your web browser as well as the option to launch iTunes.

This isn't exactly a ground-breaking move - you don't get any further information about the app than you do on the iTunes page but it is a handy development for those of us who loathe and detest using iTunes unless it's absolutely essential. It also makes sharing links to stand-out apps a bit more user-friendly and all without needing to open iTunes at all. Try it out with this link to our current favourite app: Hipstamatic.
