2014 Range Rover Sport Video Review

The Range Rover Sport is here, folks, and in case you haven’t read our reviews of the V8 Supercharged and SDV6 versions, here’s a quick summary: They’re brilliant. Obviously, text reviews aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so we’ve also been beavering away on one of the first video reviews you’ll see on the Internet, which we think shows this amazing new car in its best light.

First, the good news: The car we tested is still in once piece – we didn’t crash it like we did the Range Rover during its launch in Marrakesh. And now the bad news: the Range Rover Sport is so bloody good, you’ll have to sell whatever you’re driving and start saving up to buy one for yourself. Sorry.

While you reclaim lost pennies from the back of the sofa and haggle over prices for your vital organs, we should probably tell you the Range Rover Sport occupies the middle ground between the ‘full fat’ Range Rover and the Range Rover Evoque. It uses the same chassis as its big brother, and the same engines, but it’s lighter, features new suspension and has been tuned to the nth degree to fulfil Land Rover’s brief of being it the fastest, most agile, most capable model the company has built to date.

In supercharged form, it can accelerate from 0-60mph in five seconds dead and race on to a top speed of 155mph. The SDV6 edition is a little slower, taking 6.8 seconds to reach 60mph, but returns an impressive 37.7mpg. Both versions are extremely capable off road, beautifully appointed inside, with ample space and more equipment and gadgets than you’ll know what to do with.

But don’t just take our word for it. Hit play on the video above and see it in action for yourself. You won’t regret it.
