Aston Martin lifts lid on V12 Vantage Roadster

Aston Martin V12 Vantage coupe a little too stuffy for you? Well we have good news, Aston Martin has lopped the top off to create a convertible version in the form of the new V12 Vantage Roadster.

The car is instantly recognisable as a V12 Vantage from the front, thanks to those tell-tale engine vents, but there are subtle new tweaks including a slight redesign of the front air intake and a more pronounced flip on the rear boot lid to reduce lift at high speeds.

The car gets a healthy smattering of carbon fibre in the form of carbon fibre side strakes, front splitter, rear diffuser, mirror caps and rear lamp infills. Inside, Aston Martin has added glass switches on the lower centre stack and provides the option of yet more carbon fibre, this time on the fascia and gearshift surround.

There are some invisible tweaks, too, including a modified rear damper setup, front and rear damper valve tuning and a new rear spring design, all implemented to improve handling.

Under the bonnet, the V12 Vantage Roadster will use the same 6-litre V12 engine as the coupe. This 517PS unit guarantees the car a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 190mph.

Have a gander at the pictures below and let us know whether you think it’s worth the £150,000 asking price.
