Caught in the Act: Driver Disqualified for Sexting

A lorry driver has been disqualified from driving for sending saucy texts to his lover whilst behind the wheel.

Dave Wood, of Nocton, Lincolnshire, kick-started his string of sexy texts with “Don’t give me a hard winkle” as he approached a small vilage in the Lincolnshire area in his HGV. He was doing 46mph at the time. Wood later became involved in a fatal collisions involving special constable Scott Benett.

Bennett lost control of his car on the A46 and was killed, but the police found that the last text Wood sent from his phone was 13 minutes before the tragic crash. However, they also discovered that Wood had been sexting his girlfriend whilst breaking the speed limit.

Despite denying dangerous driving on November 3rd last year, Wood was found guilty due to the weight of evidence against him. He has been forced to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, and has been ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge with £100 costs.

Wood may now find it hard to raise a smile let alone anything else.
