Jaguar XFR-S driven in anger for first time at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Jaguar new XFR-S was driven publicly in anger for the first time ever today at Goodwood. The bonkers high performance version of the already quite brutal Jaguar XFR showed up during the Festival of Speed press day alongside a host of other, classic Jags.

Those lucky enough to be in attendance were treated to some fireworks. 1988 Le Mans 24hr winner Andy Williams launched the thing off the Goodwood Hill start line in a plume of tyre smoke and had onlookers gawping as the car’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 and souped-up exhaust system provided a fitting soundtrack.

The Jaguar XFR-S uses the same engine as the XFR, but produces an impressive 550PS and 680Nm of torque – that’s 40PS and 55Nm more than its cousin. Unsurprisingly, it’ll hit 60mph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds (0-62mph in 100kmh) and reach an electronically limited top speed of 186mph.

Want one? Well you’ll have to raid your piggybank. And all your mates’, too. The Jaguar XFR-S is available to order now for the paltry sum of £79,995. Have a gander at these photos and let us know what you think in the comments below.
