Motorist photographed playing iPad game while driving on motorway

We’ve seen some examples of idiotic driving, but one motorist may have have topped the lot as he was spotted playing an iPad game while driving at 65mph on Scotland’s busiest motorway.

The Daily Record obtained a picture that shows the lunatic travelling in a black Ford Fiesta with blue stripes as he hurtled down the M8. Most shocking of all was the fact he was playing a version of the Real Racing app, a popular driving game available for download on the Apple App Store.

The person who took the photo was, understandably, quite shocked. “I was in the passenger seat as we passed this guy who was doing 65mph,” they said. “I looked down and couldn’t believe my eyes. He was sitting playing the Real Racing game on his iPad and glancing up at the road every now and then. I have never seen anything like it, it was terrifying to watch.”

The shocked phtographer described the iPad-playing lunatic as a man in mid-20s.

“He saw me looking at him and was waving at me but when I tried to take a picture of his face, he turned away behind the seat.

“At one point he undertook us still playing the game on the iPad. If the guy keeps carrying on line this he is going to kill himself or someone else, for sure. He needs a wake-up call.”

It’s surely only a matter of time before this motorist, who was travelling on the M8’s westbound section at the Eurocentral junction at 4.45pm on Thursday, gets a visit from the authorities. The Daily Record has handed the photograph, which contain the car’s license plate number, to police.

Head over to the Dail Record to see the shocking image for yourself.
