Woman cleared of dangerous driving after man dies exposing her breasts

A woman has been cleared of dangerous driving charges after crashing her car and killing her male passenger after he “playfully untied” her bikini whilst behind the wheel. Brittany Lahm, 24, from Manhattan, New York, was driving along the New York State Thruway, returning from a day at the beach. Her male passenger, Brandon Berman, 19, “playfully untied” her bikini top as they travelled at 65mph.

Miss Lahm removed her hands from the wheel to cover herself, but in the process lost control of the Lexus she was driving. It swerved off the road, smashed into the central reservation, and flipped multiple times in the air.

The force of the crash partially ejected Mr Berman, of New City, New York, from the vehicle, causing him to suffer massive head trauma.

A Second passenger ,Jason Pelletier, from Suffern, New York, took the case to court as he attempted to sue Miss Lahm for damages after the injuries he suffered from the crash caused his promising football career to be cut short.

Mr Pelletier’s lawyers argued that Miss Lahm should have pulled over to adjust her top. He said: “[the defendant] should have slowed the vehicle down, kept both hands on the wheel, and pulled off of the highway, before attempting to re-tie her bathing suit, and the mere fact that she may have been embarrassed by the exposure of her breasts to the passengers in the car does not excuse her failure to do so.”

However, according to The New York Daily News, the Rockland County jury found that Miss Lahm’s bikini problem was “a sudden and unforeseen emergency not of her own making.”
