As well as being broadcast live across multiple TV platforms, BT Sport’s upcoming game will feature some new innovations including a new lineout camera angle and a ‘kicking cam’ delivered from a small remote camera placed behind the kicker giving a low, worm’s eye view type angle.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for those rugby fans who haven’t yet signed up to BT Sport to see just how good our coverage is. It’s also a chance for those new to rugby to sample the action and be converted to the game.

“We want to bring the excitement of club rugby to as big an audience as possible. We are the new home of club rugby with exclusively live Aviva Premiership Rugby games across the season.”

This is the second time that BT Sport has dangled a carrot in front of sports fans. BT Sport’s first night was broadcast free enticing Freeview viewers to sign up for BT Vision or BT YouView.

The rugby season kicked off on BT Sport last week. The Newcastle vs Bath game averaged 67,000 viewers (peak 108,000), at the same time when the England football team doled out  4-0 trashing to Moldova in the FIFA World Cup qualifier.

BT Sport will be showing 69 live games from the Aviva Premiership rugby union season and has the rights to the following three seasons.
