Even after Christmas is over, there’s still plenty to look forward to for UK consumers; namely the festive sales and January discounts on some hot mobile tech. Lots of mobile phones, tablets and wearables can be snapped up with a big discount, from the likes of O2, EE, Tesco Mobile and Vodafone. And you can also grab the latest phones on contract for a great price, or bag yourself a SIM only deal on the cheap.

Best January 2017 mobile deals: O2

O2 is offering a selection of great deals over Christmas 2016 and new year 2017, starting from now. These offers run until January 11.

For instance, you can save £120 on the overall cost of a Samsung Galaxy S7, which can be bagged for just £35 per month on contract. On top of that you’ll also bag yourself a free Level Box Slim bluetooth speaker worth a hundred quid, to enjoy your tunes on the go.

The free speaker deal also applies to the Galaxy S7 Edge, which can now be grabbed for just £36 per month with a £10 up-front cost.

Tablets are also on sale this Christmas. O2 is offering the iPad Pro 12.9 from £37 per month with a £40 up-front cost. That’s a saving of £150 over the original £190 up-front asking price. Alternatively you can grab the iPad Air 2 for just £30 per month, down from £35.

If you want a wearable on the cheap, you can grab the Fitbit Blaze for £135 or Samsung’s last-gen Gear S2 for £200. And O2 is even offering three months free on its O2 Home service, which sets up your perfect smart home hassle-free.

Finally you can grab half-price SIMs if you want a SIM-only deal, with the cost for the first six months slashed in half.

Best January 2017 mobile deals: EE

EE’s festive offers have also already begin and run until January 12 2017.

If you’re after a phone on contract, you can enjoy an up-front saving of £100 on the iPhone SE, now £30 down from £130, with 5GB of data and unlimited minutes and calls. That’s cost you £30.99 per month. The Huawei P9 has also been discounted by £100 (now £30 up-front on a £23.49 monthly plan which gives you 500MB of data and 500 mins).

Pay As You Go phones are also on sale, including the Alcatel Pixi 4, Mobiwire Pictor and Nokia 130. Those handsets can be picked up half-price with a £10 top-up.

Meanwhile SIM-only bundles have also been discounted. You can grab EE’s 12GB bundle for just £19.99 a month, with unlimited mins and texts. That’s a saving of £132 overall.

Lastly EE is offering tablets on the cheap this Christmas and new year. You can get an up-front saving of £100 on an Apple iPad Mini 2 if you take the 20GB 4GEE Max Plan, or save £130 on the Huawei T1 tablet and P9 Lite handset. That’s just £20 up-front and £38.29 per month for both devices.

Best January 2017 mobile deals: Vodafone

Vodafone’s winter sales are running from now until January 31, and includes deals on mobile phones, tablets, monthly contracts and SIM only bundles.

To start, you can snap up an iPhone 6s with a half-price monthly tariff for the first six months – making it just £21 per month to begin with, rising to £42 per month after six months. This is on Vodafone’s 3GB Red bundle.

Alternatively you can pick up the Samsung Galaxy S7 for the same price, on Vodafone’s 6GB Red bundle. Want to get started with VR? You can also bag a Samsung Gear VR for just £40 when you buy the S7 or S7 Edge on any tariff. That’s half price.

If you’re after a Pay As You Go mobile phone deal, the Moto G4 Play can be snaffled for just £79 now (previously £120) when you buy a Vodafone Big Value bundle.

Vodafone is also offering some hot SIM only deals over Christmas 2016 and stretching into January 2017. For instance, you can grab a 1GB SIM only 12-month bundle that’s half price for the first six months (£7.50 instead of £15), or the Red Value 8GB SIM only 12-month bundle that’s also half price (£13.50 instead of £27) for the first six months.

Best January 2017 mobile deals: Tesco Mobile

Tesco Mobile has also started its January sales early, with some great offers on iPhones and a range of other mobiles, plus SIM only deals. These mobile offers run until the end of January 2017.

First up, you can save almost £100 on the overall cost of the iPhone 7 and Samsung S7 Edge on selected tariffs. The iPhone 7 for instance will ‘only’ cost you £56.25 a month, instead of £60.25 a month for 24 months. For that you get 5000 minutes, 5000 texts and a rather lovely 20GB to chew through each month.

Android fans can instead snaffle a Samsung S7 Edge for £38 per month (usually £42) on a 24-month contract, with 5000 minutes, 5000 texts and 3GB of data per month.

If your budget is a wee bit tighter, the Moto E3 can be yours for just £7.50 a month. That gives you 250 minutes, 5000 texts and 500MB of data per month, making it a solid choice for light users.

The Sony E5 is also available from £16.50 per month (£4 off), with 5000 minutes, 5000 texts and 3GB of data per month. And the Samsung J5 is now £15 on a 24-month contract with 500 minutes, 5000 texts, and 500MB per month.

Pay As You Go customers can save £20 on the Motorola Moto E3, which is now just £69 at Tesco. Otherwise the Samsung J3 is now £119, down £30 from the original asking price.
