Blackberry set to launch three new phones for 2015

Blackberry’s 2015 phone line-up has leaked online, revealing a new Passport handset, a slider phone with curved screen edges and a swanky new Porsche mobile.

The new Blackberry Slider phone, a.k.a. Blackberry Venice (pictured above), is the most interesting new handset in Blackberry’s 2015 line-up. This 5.1-inch mobile boasts the same Quad HD resolution as the LG G3, which should make for super-sharp visuals, while the insides are lined with an octa-core processor and a mighty 3,650mAh battery.

Blackberry’s impressive specs are rounded off by a 16-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facer.

Press shots suggest that the Blackberry Slider has curved screen edges like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, but we doubt that the display itself actually curves. Rather, it’s probably just an optical trick with the glass, something already found on the new Oppo R7.

As well as the Slider/Venice, two more new Blackberry phones leaked via Chinese website Weibo this morning. One is a follow-up to the Passport, a square handset that massively divided opinion amongst critics and fans on launch thanks to its unusual design (although BB itself pointed out to us all how some people do really like the phone).

Dubbed the Blackberry Oslo, for reasons unknown, the new Passport will also boast a Quad HD screen, stuck above the standard QWERTY keyboard. A Snapdragon 800 and 3,450mAh battery are packed inside and you can expect a 13-megapixel snapper on the back.

Finally there’s a posh new Blackberry Porsche phone, which will no doubt arrive sporting a price tag well above a grand here in the UK. Once again, you should find a Quad HD display, Snapdragon 800 and 13-megapixel camera.

So far we don’t know the UK pricing of the new Blackberry phones, but expect them to be revealed this summer.
