The battle of the dual-cores heats up, with Orange announcing that the Motorola Atrix will arrive in early May,
The Atrix will be launched exclusively on the Orange network, though T-Mobile will offer the phone in June.
Orange will give you the superphone for free for a two-year contract on tariffs of £35 or more. The £35 tariff includes 600 minutes of talk-time, 750 MB data allowance, unlimited texts, 50 MMS and unlimited Wi-Fi.
The phone is attempting to stand out from the the dual-core crowd with a selection of docks, including the intriguing laptop dock, giving you an 11.6-inch screen and full-size keyboard. Is this the best smartphone for business?
Well, the laptop dock, priced at £299, will come free with some of Orange’s high-end business tariffs, but otherwise you will have to pay up in full.
A special “Work and Play” kit, including a remote, mouse, HD multimedia dock and keyboard will cost £50 for those buying the Atrix at the same time, and existing Orange pay monthly customers who upgrade to the Motorola Atrix during May will get this set of goodies for free. Sounds good to us.
Simeon Bird, Director of Propositions at Orange UK said: “We’re pleased to be bringing Motorola Atrix to our customers as it’s one of the most innovative handsets we’ve seen this year and it supports our passion for innovation.
“With its intelligent support accessories, the handset not only stands out from the rest of the pack, but the overall experience takes mobile computing to the next level.”
