Leaks drifting from Chile suggest that Motorola is readying the ruggedised Moto X Sport for launch, while the new Moto G 2015 should also appear next month.
Moto X Sport
Motorola’s new flagship phone is tipped to be named the Moto X Sport, suggesting a mobile aimed at fitness seekers. We’d expect a slightly ruggedised design that can survive a few tumbles, without bulking up the new Moto X or ruining the sexy curved aesthetics. And of course, full dust and water resistance like Sony’s Xperia Z3+.
Of course, we’d be surprised if the Moto X Sport wasn’t simply a spin-off special edition, launched at the same time as the latest Moto X – kind of like the Samsung Galaxy Active range. After all, we’ve already heard plenty of whisperings about a new Moto X flagship, which suggest two new models with built-in fingerprint scanners.
Rumoured specs for the Moto X Sport include a 5.2-inch screen (probably a Full HD panel rather than Quad HD to keep battery life strong). The old Moto X’s 13-megapixel snapper has been boosted to a 16-meg camera, alongside a 5-megapiel selfie cam.
There’s also talk of a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, which further suggests that the Moto X Sport won’t be a fully-fledged flagship but a bastard child.
Moto G 2015
The third Moto G handset should be revealed by Motorola at the same time as the new Moto X handset(s), and we’re expecting big things from this killer cut-price phone. Leaks suggest another 5-inch screen but boosted cameras and an updated processor, which all sounds on the money considering earlier leaks.
