Samsung and Swype set new Guinness World Record for texting, use it for ad

We really like Swype here at Recombu. Not only does it look cool, but it's the fastest text input method for mobiles going - that's a claim officially backed by the Guiness World of Records. In the video below we see Swype intern Franklin Page showing off his texting skills on a Samsing Omnia II with Swype installed.

Using Swype, Page easily beat the existing world record for texting using a touchscreen - 160 characters in 40.91 seconds - setting the new world record at 35.54 seconds. The official 160-character phrase used to test texting speeds is:

"The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human."
