Samsung Galaxy S3 and Eurosport team up to offer Olympic livestream

In the run up to Olympics, Samsung Galaxy S3 owners will be able to livestream the Olympics over the Eurosport Player app, for free.

London is readying itself for the flood of athletes and spectators expected to arrive in the coming weeks and months. For many, getting tickets hasn’t been an option and so TV coverage will be their fall back, but for others even that isn’t an option apart from the odd snatched live stream at lunchtime and after work. The solution, a partnership between Samsung and Eurosport.

With Samsung’s newly announced flagship still on the up and up, prospective buyers are flocking to stores around the world to pick up a Galaxy S3 of their own, complete with all its cutting-edge smartphone innards. Eurosport offer a host of apps, available on both iOS and Android, but it’s the Eurosport Player application that S3 owners will benefit from.

Between July 14th and August 12th, those who purchase or have already purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3, will be given full access to livestreams of Eurosport’s coverage, broadcasting on Eurosport and Eurosport 2, from the comfort of their 4.8-inch HD SuperAMOLED displays and all for free.

The Eurosport Player app typically costs users €5.90 a month, via Google Play and once the one month’s free subscription ends, S3 users will be offered the chance to extend their service on the normal, paid basis. Aside from Italy (where the offer isn’t available), the application is accessible from both Google Play and Samsung Apps. Interested? Let us know what you think on Twitter.
