Introducing Gx-cellence: LG’s G Pro successor set for UK

Praise be to the Koreans! The LG Gx will soon be released in the UK.

You may have done your best to hide your disappointment when the LG G Pro failed to land on UK shores, but we here at the home of high-tech telephony that is Recombu felt your pain. Which is why we want to be amongst the first to bring you some seasonal glad-tidings: the successor to the Pro, the Gx, is heading here right now!

LG's all-new Gx: specs with sex appeal

The LG Gx has been slimmed down by 0.2mm and shed 5g of weight compared to the G Pro, yet still packs all the punch of a 5.5-inch Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 4G LTE connectivity as standard, quality enhancing Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Wi-Fi, Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth 4.0 a 13-megapixel, Full HD video-supporting camera round the back and a 2.1-megaxpixel shooter for Skype and the like facing front.

What’s more, ensuring you can make use of this string of impressive specs for as long as possible between tedious wall-based entanglements with the power fairy, the Gx comes packing a Brobdingnagian-esque 3,140mAh battery.

Running on an as yet unspecified Android Jelly Bean build with LG’s own UX interface controlling the show, Smart Day is present to let owners check the time, weather report and their diary from the lock screen, as are a range of other customisations for digital media control, cloud connectivity, in-car voice-activated satnav, Smart Memo software for prolific note takers, and an IR blaster for remote control over household media players.

Available in black or white (ignore the red red-herring) finishes, the Gx also has the ability to interact with LG’s Smart TV, bringing up data on the big screen, and is expected as soon as January. G Pro who?
