Recombu team up with with the boys from Prestige Wrap and Customs to make a helicopter look like a Nike Magista football boot.
With the 2014 Fifa World Cup upon us, it’s time to bask in the beautiful game. We’re big footy fans here at Recombu, so we teamed up with the boys at Prestige Wrap & Customs to pay homage in the only way we know how – we modified a Eurofighter helicopter to make it look like a Nike Magista Football boot. Get in!
The Nike Magista boot is arguably the most distinctive piece of footy footwear there’s ever been, thanks to its unusual FlyKnit knitted finish. Knitting the surface of a helicopter was out of the question, so Prestige boys Ralph and Greg had to think outside the box when creating the a design, but produced a beautiful finish as per usual.
The modification began with the boys giving the chopper a full shampoo to remove grit and dirt. Next, the vinyl wrap was painstakingly measured, cut and applied panel by panel to the helicopter’s surface until, several hours later, it resembled a flying Magista boot.
