Huawei schedules event for June 18th amid P6-U06 leaks

All the major players have unveiled their flagships for 2013, but it looks like Huawei has something left to show us. The smartphone manufacturer sent out invites yesterday for an event to be held in London on June 18th, presumably to show off its latest wares. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see the company finally confirm UK availability for the Huawei Ascend P2 – especially considering Three just announced that it will be offering the handset – but Huawei may have something else up its sleeve.

Nowhereelse.fr managed to score pictures earlier this week of what’s believed to be the Huawei P6-U06, a ridiculously slim smartphone that’s reportedly just 6.18mm. The images acquired by the publication don’t feature a Huawei logo of any kind, but the design of the handset looks similar to what the company is generally going for this year with other devices like the Ascend P2.

Engadget notes that Huawei has been teasing a super slim phone for some time as well, and the site acquired some pictures of its own that show off a metallic brushed body. Mexican blog Circular also received spy shots of the phone, as well as specifications for the device. The P6-U06 is said to running a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz, along with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It’s not entirely clear if the device has a microSD card slot, however.

Intrigued? You’ll have to wait until June 18th to find out all the answers, and we’ll bring you the latest from Huawei’s event as it happens.
