Cross-platform multiplayer mobile gaming gaining traction

By Andrew Lim on Monday, 1st March 2010

Last month two developers posted a video to YouTube showing them playing Homerun Battle 3D, a Wii Sports-esque baseball game, against each other using an iPhone and a Motorola Droid. It was the first time we'd seen a live, 3D, cross-platform mobile game and we were really excited by it.

Today we've discovered another live, 3D, cross-platform mobile game from French iPhone game company Bulky Pix. The game is called Magnetic Sports Soccer and it's based on table football. As you can see in the video it's being played between an iPhone and a Google Nexus One.

We haven't had a chance to test it out yet so we're not sure if the current version of Magnetic Sports Soccer offers this functionality but we'll let you know as soon as possible. Magnetic Sports Soccer costs $2.99 (£2) from the iPhone app store. We can't wait to see a cross-platform first person shooter mobile game.
