Touch ScreenPitched as a “super phone”, the Google Nexus One was officially announced last night. Google has decided to sell the Nexus through its own phone site, which offers a SIM-free deal and soon you'll be able to buy it on a contract with Vodafone. If you decide to buy it SIM-free then it will cost you around £400, including delivery charges.
Features-wise the Nexus One boasts a large 3.7-inch screen, measures 11.5mm thin, packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack and it runs Android (2.1). We had a quick go with it last night and it feels great and looks much better than it does in pictures.
Other features include speech-to-text and an updated version of Google Earth Mobile that allows you to fly through maps. You can't save apps to an SD card yet, which means you're stuck using the 512MB of internal memory. We will hopefully update you with more information and pictures soon.
