Spaghetti Marshmallows: Inexplicably captivating Android puzzler

Spaghetti Marshmallows. Sounds like something from the mind of Heston Blumenthal doesn’t it? But it’s not.

Spaghetti Marshmallows is instead a puzzle game where you erect giant constructions made from spaghetti sticks and cubes of marshmallow. A bit like those school team building exercises where you made towers out of rolled up newspapers and sticky tape.

The bits of spaghetti act like girders which you connect to marshmallow cubes which can be used as joins and weights. Tapping the screen drops a mallow cube into the field. Spaghetti sticks are created by long pressing on a cube and dragging your finger across the screen.

The object of each level is to build a structure tall enough for you to pass a marshmallow through the hovering rings, which are usually situated in some inconvenient out of the way place.

Things get complicated by way of a gentle breeze which can sometimes pick up and send your tottering construction crashing to the ground. Or annoying frogs that gobble up any mallows placed within range of their elasticky tongues. Later levels feature multiple rings, requiring Brunel-esque planning and foresight when constructing your giant food pylons.

Once you’ve completed a level however, you can ‘Rampage’ everything and have your pasta-confectionery tower come a-tumbling down.

There are 43 levels in total to get through in the full version which currently costs £1.35 (converted from SEK 18.75) in the Android Market. There’s also a free version that gives you access to the first 9 levels.
