Xperia Play gets more PlayStation games, including WipeOut: Everybody’s Golf available now

The Xperia Play’s had a pretty lukewarm response so far, but makers Sony Ericsson are hoping that’ll change with the announcement of several Android games optimised for the gaming phone, and some additions to the classics roster

WipeOut, Everbody’s Golf 2, and Jet Moto will all be playable on your Xperia Play this year. In fact, Everybody’s Golf 2 is already available Android Market.

Though it doesn’t state it’s only for PlayStation certified phones, you’ll be unable to find it on the Android Market with a phone other than Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play.

But it’s there, as our screen-grab on the right proves, as is Lumines, which has previously appeared on Sony’s PSP. This time it’s been ported to the Android phone by Connect2Media, but it’s not as pretty as it used to be.

More games already set to arrive on the gaming phone include cult hit Minecraft, and a new MMO sci-fi epic called
Star Legends.

Sony Ericsson recently issued a free game from portable game developers Gameloft, Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard, exclusively for Xperia Play customers.
