Now TV is offering customers a free month’s access after Game of Thrones fans were unable to stream the show on Monday night.
The Sky-owned streaming service has emailed customers, apologising for buckling under the pressure of viewers who struggled to watch the Season 4 debut online.
Customers will be able to get a free Entertainment Pass for a month, normally £4.99, meaning the next four episodes of the fantasy epic will be on the house.
The offer of a free month is valid until September 8. By then the fourth season of Game of Thrones will be done and dusted, but you’ll still be able to revisit the Seven Kingdoms by catching up with Seasons 1-3 and dipping into other Sky shows.
Shows currently available to stream include award-winning comedy Moone Boy, starring Chris O’Dowd, gritty murder mystery True Detective starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey and American gold rush drama Klondike, which coincidentally stars Richard Madden of Game of Thrones fame.
The fourth season debut of Game of Thrones is the first to be streamed online at the same time as it’s being broadcast alongside the regular Sky Atlantic HD 9:00pm slot.
This means that for the first time, Game of Thrones fans who aren’t Sky TV customers can watch the action online without having to resort to illegal means that’d see you hung from the ramparts of the Red Keep for being a filthy pirate.
