Beard of Thrones: Joanna Lumley dons the robes of the maesters for Sky TV Box Sets

Read our guide to Sky On DemandFor the occasion, national treasure Joanna Lumley dressed up as characters from HBO’s hit fantasy show which has premiered on Sky Atlantic every year. Lumley said:

“It was fabulous playing so many of the characters from Sky’s TV Box Sets; it’s not every day you get to audition to be Daenerys Targaryen, mother of Dragons.”

We’re guessing that Joanna’s other get up here isn’t based on the mother of Dragons but perhaps one of her bearded retinue, or maybe one of the Night’s Watch?

Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s Brand Director of TV Products, added: “We know how important it is for our customers to have the flexibility to watch the shows everyone is talking about when it suits them. That’s why this autumn we are introducing more TV series to our TV Box Set service, to ensure we have Box Sets of the latest and greatest shows ready for customers to catch up on whenever they want.

“So whether you missed out on the moves of McNulty in The Wire first time around, or just want some pure escapism by indulging on the complete series of Mad Men, you’ll find it on your Sky+ box, ready for you whenever you are.

“All Sky+HD customers can enjoy all that on demand has to offer by simply connecting their set-top box to broadband.  And the great news is that it’s easy to get set up, thanks to our nifty wireless connectors.”

Thanks to the recent launch of the WiFi-enabled Sky+HD boxes, it’s even easier for Sky TV customers to enjoy on-demand and catch-up services. Customers with older Sky+HD boxes can connect to their broadband router with an Ethernet cable or with a Sky On Demand Connector (£21.95) if a wired solution isn’t practical.

Sky is currently giving away On Demand Connectors to customers who need them, until October 13 or until stocks last.

As well as TV Box Sets, you can also stream content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 as well as content from Sky channels including Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living and Sky Arts 1 & 2. Sky Movies subscribers can also access hundreds of films at no extra cost and thousands of movies are available to rent from the Sky Store.
