ITV Player live and catch up TV hits Windows Phone 8: The X Factor on your Nokia Lumia

ITV has made its ITV Player streaming service available on Windows Phone 8 devices.

Owners of Nokia Lumia 1520’s, 630’s and others can now dip into the last 30 days of ITV’s catch-up services from programmes across ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and children’s channel CITV.

As well as this, you’ll also be able to stream live TV on the go, effectively turning phones with high resolution screens into portable HD TVs.

As well as live TV and catch-up, you’ll also be able to tap into a ‘Don’t Miss’ curated playlist and a ‘Most Watched’ stream.

ITV Player joins BBC iPlayer, 4oD and Demand 5 apps on the Windows Phone Store, letting British buyers get the full complement of PSB catch-up services on their phones.

Paul Kanareck, Director of Online and Brands at ITV, said: “We are very excited to have launched the ITV Player app on Windows Phone 8 devices. Mobile is becoming an increasingly important route for audiences to access our content with over 50 per cent of long form requests for the ITV Player coming from mobiles and tablets in 2013. We will continue to expand our reach across suitable devices going forward.”

ITV Player apps for iOS and Android are also available, but note that not every Android device out there has been tested

Sky Go and Virgin TV Anywhere have yet to launch on Windows Phone and according to Virgin Media, TV Anywhere won’t be coming to the third biggest mobile platform anytime soon.

You can download the ITV Player app from Windows Store now.
